What is a Ductless Heat Pump
Heat pumps work by collecting heat from the air and moving it from one area to another (inside to outside or outside to inside). With new inverter heat pump technology, the heat pump will save energy and operate more efficiently by adjusting the motor speed, much like a car’s accelerator but for temperatures rather than speed.
Applications
A huge advantage with Mitsubishi Electric Ductless heat pumps is the ability to install them in virtually any space, no matter if it is a single zone or multiple zone system. Which means they are perfect for a single zone in that 500 square foot weekend cabin or a late 1800s 3000 square foot Victorian house with 8 zones. They can be installed in any new construction build or replace that old traditional ducted system. Mitsubishi Electric Ductless systems can be installed just about anywhere in the home, and still be minimally intrusive, in most cases, needing only a two-inch hole through the wall that will be sealed after work is completed.
Cold Weather/All Weather Operation
With Mitsubishi Electric Ductless heat pump Systems, you will have a couple options, both of which are very efficient. First, will be your inverter driven heat pump, this will heat at around 50% capacity even at near zero degrees outside. Then you have your hyper-heat technology heat pumps that can heat at 100% capacity down to zero degrees and heat around 80% capacity at -13 degrees ambient temperature. Yes, you read that right, get year-round heating with no extra source of heat needed!
